  i was thinking this weekend of a brother i first met when i was a teenager.. not yet an elder, this brother was very outspoken, and was viewed a kind of hero to the r&f.. an inexperienced teen, i also believed ( influenced by others) that this guy was a godsend.. looking back, with the eyes of a more mature person, i now consider him an arrogant self opinionated bully.. he later became an elder and i might add that he also had an imposing physical appearance .

  but he had no education.

  no schooling.

  No one can say that the Pope has no style. Yes, though not a catholic, I really quite admire him.

  Julia: Sounds like you were a rebel LOL.

  What with unexpected job losses and injury and that! Its just that. They never prepare for the unexpected. Jehovah will provide. I remember when my dad was ill and I needed a new school uniform: we arrived home one day to find one on our doorstep. Oh, Jehovah has provided.

  More the Churchgoing neighbour, moved from her own sense of Christianity provided.

  Pickler: I know what you mean. I guess we should feel sorry for them, but its so frustrating.

  i just broke down in such an ugly cry at work.

  walked outside and just sobbed my guts out.

  Hi Loubelle.

  I agree with Loz. I dont know how the healthcare system works in your country, but if your doctor could put you on sickleave for a week or two: its clear to us that you need a break. Sick leave isnt just for bad backs and runny noses.

  Try and get some time for yourself, stand back and appraise your situation. In anycase, it seems that sooner or later you must change your job.

  Good luck. We shall be thinking about you, in our little corner of the globe.

  Of course my observation is a general one. There are 10's of thousands who quit the Borg every year ( hey theres some good news ).

  He later became an elder and I might add that he also had an imposing physical appearance . But he had no education. No schooling. Many of his reasonnings were just plain stupid. But he was still a bully.

  But wait a minute, Jehovahs Witnesses dont need a worldly education. They have something better. God given wisdom.

  THEY are experts. Experts in EVERYTHING.

  They know better than doctors, councellors, social services. Everybody.

  You cannot tell them anything, they cannot learn anything, THEY KNOW BETTER.

  Who needs god given wisdom. It is stagnent. It never evolves, never learns from its mistakes. Never moves forward.

  It is a barrier to human advancement.

  How long has this been going on!?

  ok, i've suddenly got heaps of time for stuff, i can cuddle with my husband on weekend mornings, and i don't have to spend money on meeting clothes!

  i've got all these great clothes i hardly wear!

  we can make pancakes on saturday mornings!

  How do you react when you happen upon the name jehovah

  whenever i here that name, maybe in conversation with someone who doesnt know my past, i feel anger welling up instantly inside me.. if there were a jw in sight, i think i could give him a jolly good shaking.. just hearing that name does things to me.. jesus = love.

  jehovah = hate, selfishness, divisiveness, and domineering manipulation.. so much for jdubs "honoring " his name.

  he's sure got a bad reputation based on how they live their lives..

  MIL letter to my wife

  background: my wife and i are inactive, we stopped attending in 2005. raised as jws, were pioneers, i was elder etc... .

  our kids are in college, also inactive but are baptised.

  my wife went back to college, getting her degree this month at age 48!

  Very difficult for you and your family.

  This was the phrase that struck me

  You know we've talked to you about this before, but I guess you don't care what we think.

  I guess she doesnt care about what you think either.

  On a positive side, my mother didnt speak to me for 5 years, then she got in touch with me through my sister , though half the while she is still trying to get me to go back.
